Anyone who knows me knows I am somewhat of a animal whisperer. If someone has a cat that hates everyone, it loves me. I’ve had many animals come up to me and allow me to pet them, including one time an adorable baby duck. So today a huge surprise was waiting for me at home.
I was eating dinner with Stormy, and this big ball of fur comes scampering up to me! I scream, because I thought it was a mouse, but as it ran away, I got a better look at it. It had a bushy tail! It went into our living room and sat shivering in a box. I look at Stormy we both think it is a squirrel, but not a normal squirrel. I get our landlord, and he said he saw it in his apartment too, but it escaped out his front door. We all try and catch it, and amazingly, it starts gliding around our living room, even scampering across my landlords butt at one point.
Eventually it settles down on a pillow on our bench. I carefully go over to it and put the towel around it. It struggles a bit, but I manage to pick it up. We all run over to the door to let it outside. It scampers away happily to a nearby tree. Stormy looks it up online, it was a FLYING SQUIRREL! It was really adorable with the biggest cutest eyes. I almost wish I could’ve kept it as a pet.
And so ends another adventure of Tara Storm, the animal whisperer!
